I’ve started a new colouring book!
Escape to Oz is a small but full colouring book, based on the Wizard of Oz story.
So far, I’ve done this much of the title page:)
well, although today’s challenge wasn’t a hard one, I actually would rather not write about it!
So – what would I do if I won the lottery? –
Just for fun – because we need some fun in our lives 🙂
For a start, We would move to a bigger house, were we could concentrate on our hobbies.
I would treat myself to an IPad Pro, and an Apple Pencil 😜 – they’re so expensive as to be prohibitive!
I would buy new clothes. Ones that fit and that I love.
I’d get a personal trainer.
I’d take art courses, lots of them!
But….money can’t buy you happiness, but it helps!
Ive enjoyed my trip into fantasy with this post 🙂
what would you do if you won the lottery?
My letter is to the kind readers of this blog:
thanks so much for reading and following this blog, when there are so many blogs in this world.
I wanted to blog as a learning experience, and it’s certainly been that. I have found participation in the 30 day blog challenge both eye opening and it’s made me think. Now I think of things from another perspective, and I look outside myself.
My brain thinks about my next blog post, and I find it a good distraction from more unpleasant things.
If you are scared of blogging, I’m here to tell you it’s not scary. It’s fun and stimulates the brain.
If you’ve been blogging a while, and feel jaded, I suggest doing a blog challenge such as this, perhaps find a friend who wants to get back into blogging or is keen to start a new one, and just go for it.
Sometimes, it’s not the amount of followers, but the way in which one blogs that is the prize.
If you’ve read this far, thank you!
I deeply appreciate you!
My son is called Myran, and I’m beyond proud of his achievements.
The three lessons I’d like Myran to learn from me are:
Whatever others think of you is there business, not yours. If people think your hair is too long, or other thing (whatever it is!) then hey ho, that’s their problem. It’s your life, no one can tell you what to do, the buck stops with you!
Be honest with yourself, love yourself, and be kind. Yes I know that’s 5 things!
All of them are important you know!
Ooops I didn’t post yesterday’s challenge!
So, yesterday was 5 Blessings:
1. My husband Reg, who is always a blessing!
2. My friends. You can’t choose your family but you can choose your friends. My friends are my family, and yesterday I had such a funny, yet healing conversation with my friend Sasha on what’s app , that it reminded me of the blessing of friendship.
3. The internet. Without it I’d be very lonely. It’s both a curse and a blessing- there are days that I wish it had never been invented, because it can be invasive (if you let it!) but without it I’d be lost. A whole world lives inside my iPad 🙂
4. Bananas. Yes, really! I’ve had trouble eating lately, but I can eat bananas. I’m not over fond, but at least I can eat them, it’s saved all manner of problems! 🍌🍌🍌
5. My little doggie. He really is a beautiful soul, and teaches me so much about life.
Day #13 – what excites you at the moment ?
Well, all of the stuff that excites me right now, I don’t want to air publicly.
Life excites me right now. There was a time when it didn’t.
Now I have found art, and meaning to life, and I explore different avenues of thought, I journal, I see life in colour. What’s not to be excited about?
Really, the best way to win my heart is to show kindness and by being nice, but for the purpose of this blog post, and just for fun – although there’s some truth in this list:
1 bring me chocolate 😜
2 take me shopping (ikea/hobbycraft/the range 😁)
3 don’t complain- there’s nothing more annoying than constant complaining- it doesn’t spark joy in my heart.
4 be grateful. Gratitude is such a simple thing, it’s free and anyone can do it. We have much to be grateful for, if we stop to think about it.
5 Did I mention chocolate 🍫? 😍😍😍😍
I really enjoyed doing this, what brings your heart joy?
I have worn what I feel comfortable in. When I started work, I wore work clothes- blouses and skirts etc. Now I work for myself, I tend to wear a smart top and trousers, and a jacket when I’m doing church services.
I used to look at clothes in charity shops and long to wear them, because they were bright, colourful and “hippy”. I wear bright colours, but not in the way I’d like to…..until I saw kellyraeroberts.com. She wears what makes her happy. In fact she has a whole course on the subject called “wear your joy”.
Since the course price isn’t currently within my price range, I took what I’ve gleaned from my own feelings and wishes.
For me, wearing my joy is being authentic in the way I look, and not worrying what people think about my clothing choices. If I want to wear my kooky green dress, or a long skirt , then I wear them. It makes me happy! And why shouldn’t you be happy?
I no longer get my hair cut. Everyone prefers my hair short, but I don’t. As much as I hate fiddling with my hair, I’m growing it, because I feel I’m no longer having to get it cut, and styled. I have come to realise I’M my style! I don’t have to look a certain way for others, but for me! I have been living authentically since I got ill with cancer. I realised joy comes in the little things.
My husband stopped getting his hair trimmed. He now has a beard, is more relaxed, wears comfortable clothes and is so much happier for following his own way. He still dresses a certain way for certain things ( like work — he is a children’s entertainer, which means dressing “differently” in the first place!) . Even so, he is becoming more authentic, his actions are no longer dictated entirely by society, and mine aren’t either.
I love living in joy – it’s our natural birthright!
Here’s my kooky green dress:
I’m going to be showing more of my joyful clothing in this blog. To find out more about the beautiful Kelly Rae Roberts go here KRR
